Book the Soft Wing

Please fill out the form below and we will confirm your request as soon as possible along with further information such as where she is likely to be berthed on your required dates. Her home port is a mooring off the town marina near the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth and she is afloat at all states of the tide.

Soft Wing is 25 feet in length and rigged as a gaff rigged cutter with a bowsprit and carrying jibs and staysails. Unlike the Falmouth Working boats which nowadays can be seen racing in the harbour, Softwing does not carry a topmast or topsail. The boat is half decked and provides a deep sheltered cockpit. This boat has also been coded recently to meet the MCA specifications and requires a qualified skipper. She carries a single 8 person liferaft and all life saving gear for that class of vessel. Traditionally these boats towed one or more iron oyster dredges and when hove aboard the oysters were sorted on a shelf on the boat’s quarter.
